Platelet Burger

Once-A-Month Hamburger Night is tonight!

I ritually eat a hamburger (with no cheese) before my week 3 blood draw because I believe it reflects favorably toward my platelet count. My platelets are at their lowest during week three of my four week chemo cycle. Vitamin B12 helps boost platelets and there is a lot of B12 in beef.

I don't eat beef on a regular basis so Hamburger Night is always a treat. I drink water and share a serving of fries with Brett. Afterward we split a milkshake and go for a walk.

We get our burgers from The Habit, which is next to Granite Community Bank. But we don't call it The Habit; we call it Platelet Burger.
